Short bio (~100 words): Alexander McCoy is a political strategist and campaign leader. He co-founded Common Defense, directed the campaign that helped bring about the first impeachment of Donald Trump, and led the campaign to end the war in Afghanistan, from the "end the forever wars" pledge signed by seven presidential candidates to direct negotiation with the White House. He has led field programs of hundreds of staff, including NextGen America's 2024 youth registration operation across eight states, and has worked on AI politics since 2023, most recently as founding head of the left coalition at Humans First. A Marine Corps veteran, he has written for The New York Times, Reuters, Foreign Policy, and HuffPost.
